missing childhood

sometimes i truly miss childhood. the simplicity of it all. not knowing all the gross and disgusting and truly sad things about the world, and life for that matter. not having homework every waking moment of your life. not having to worry about what is going to become of yourself if you fail your next quiz or test.
some days i really miss those days, for selfish reasons and for otherwise a yearning for my life back then. (does that sound wrong, or weird to you?) i miss my family and friends from utah, and those that have moved while ive lived here. sometimes i yearn for the company of those people ive grown away from. i guess thats why the Lord allowed change: so we can learn new and different lessons from every oppurtunity in my life and so we can meet new people. high school has really opened my eyes to that. that, just because life has changed a lot since you were born into this world, or even since you walked into school the other morning, we have to learn from every waking moment of your lives. we all have things that we can apply to our lives from our daily experiences.

this is one of the things ive missed: swinging on the swing, and NOT getting sick.

do you remember when you were little and you would pump on the swing? and if you were pumping at the same time as your partner, you joked that you were in love? i just had that flash back and thought i would bring it up. its been a long time since i have found a swing that i can actually sit on and not get sick on, or have my feet not drag along on the ground. but being this old and my height, i guess that just ruins everything. haha not really though. i enjoy being outside with my siblings, but not long enough to actually be bored enough to swing on our swings we have in the backyard. o well :)

creepers

creepers in the neighborhood...

how do you find them?

this crazy thing google and the right keywords.

and that is exactly what i did today during third block. my teacher talked to us about the stuff we put on the internet and how we need to be safe about that. then we watched a couple of videos about real life kids (girls, ironically, for the most part) who were not safe about the information they put on the internet and they were found by guys who were supposed friends. the scary thing is that both of them ended up in jail, but both will end up out of there before they die. you can finish that mind track...

so we ended the end of the day with searching ourselves and seeing how much personal information we can find out from looking through the google entries. scary stuff if you look through it. then we looked for all the registered sex offenders in a ten mile radius of our houses. i found that there are about ten in a ten mile range of my house... CREEPY!!! i looked up my parents (because i knew that my name wasnt going to show up in an online phonebook) and i was able to find the age range of my parents and the exact location of my home and DIRECTIONS to get to my house... and a detailed list of all my neighbors and all the adults living in the household. thank goodness they arent allowed to put a minors name on that list!! 0:)

i will be making sure my house is completely locked up next time i am babysitting.. that is how creeped out i am about this whole situation

youtube, hey there deliliah, and comedy

everybody knows that boredom brings on some pretty crazy things. this is one of the things that my boredom plus youtube brought to pass: divine comedy. its a mormon group of actors that take a bunch of topics that do and do not relate to being a mormon and our history. it is soo funny. you'll have to look them up. the funniest one ive seen is the one labeled "oregon trail".

ok, then there is "hey there dellilah". remixed. to say "i'm in the mtc". its quite funny.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xi4OsIdmn8 . (if the url doesnt work, type it in.

it is sooo great. all of these you have to listen to what they are saying, it makes it that much more funny :)

"snow"

ok, so the extremely irriating thing of all: we got out of school last wednesday for no reason at all... ugh. yes, it was snowing earlier and there were patches of black ice in some places, but not enought o send us home early! good time in class that we could have spent other ways. but at least we had first and second block, the full block. those are the two classes that are extremely fast paced and are really hard to catch up in when we get out of school for no apparent reason... ugh.... not good :(

undecisiveness

dress one

these are my options for a band banquet dress. i dont know which one i like the best. all the dresses will end up having sleeves. its just a thing i prefer. but i want your opinion. comment and tell me which dress you like the best!

love at first... frog?

one of my friends has a uper soft stuffed animal in her room and one day when we were talking, i was sitting there literally petting this animal. after about a half hour, she said "seeing how much you like that animal, i think i am going to get you that for valentines day." so this morning she presented me with the girl version of this said animal.

needless to say, i am soo excited about it!! its soo incredibly loveable and soft. (see the sheen of that "fur"?)

i said thanks with a plate full of cookies. :)

valentines day is soo awesome. yes, this year will be different because of the fact i am in high school. but thats really the only difference. oh well! happy valentines day!! <3 <3

life with snow

so we have been back in school almost a month and a half and so far we have had ONE (1) really monday. the first monday in january we had out because of winter break. the second monday, we had a one hour delay because of snow that we had gotten over the weekend. third week, martin luther king, jr. day. fourth monday, we had a normal monday... the first so far. then is last monday, we had a two hour delay because of icy roads and a snow storm that had come in. the two hour delay was nice. school didnt start until ten thirty so we only had five hours of school! woo hoo!! :)  happy campers baby... :)

but i aint complaining. the snow has been soo amazing. its allowed me to get a lot of extra needed sleep, but it has also stressed my teachers out, so weve had a lot of homework..... eewwww and because of the extra homework, do what i cant finish at night, in the morning! :-)

bottle ecosystems

that was our first biology project. today we did our final observation of the poor thing after like a month. my bottle (along with two other girls) was the control bottle of our two bottle experiement. so we had our lone fish die in the transfer so the teacher kindly replaced it. everything went well from there. our water wasnt neccessary safe to drink straight from the bottle, but it was better than one of my friends. but more on that later. the fish lived through the experiment, but i gladly stuck the poor fish back in the beaker.

but our variable bottle didnt have that much luck. we started out with three fish. one died in transfer, so we didnt bother to replace him. it didnt make that big of a difference to our experiement. if any thing, it proved our hypothesis. but about two weeks into our project, one poor thing passed away. we found him floating around on the bottom of the bottle, slightly starting to decompose... eeww. then last thursday, we found the poor fish floating hopelessly upside down, beyond the help of fresh water. then yesterday while i was walking into the class, i happened to glimse at the bottle. the first dead fish was plastered above the water level and slightly hole-y and very heavily decomposing. it was bad... and very repulsive. but we got the poor fish out of his misery today when we cleared out the bottle.

ok, so more about my friends bottle.
he and his group decided to test if half an apple would help or harm the growth of the aquatic portion and/or the terrestrial portion. his bottle held the half of the apple floating helplessly inside the water. about a week into it, we all noticed a smell emitting from the growth cart. his partner noticed that it was from their bottle. but it gets worse. when we went to check the dissolved nitrate inside his water, the data showed a disgusting thing. (pure water has a 0 dissolved nitrate level. drinkable water ranges from 0-10) his measured a terrible 362. absolutely gross... the smell continued to grow to a repulsive odor. almost as bad as a child's soiled diaper. so today when we were cleaning the bottles out so we could recycle what we could, his bottle smelled soo bad that the people in the back of the Science Lab could smell it and were repulsed. it smelled like a baked bean gas and a child's soiled diaper combined. it was sooo sooo gross.

needless to say, we are all glad that experiement is OVER...

what i see first

ok, so yesterday. me and my family were sitting there talking and my oldest younger brother goes up to his mother and asked her "what do you see first when you look at me?"
she replied, "your big brown eyes."
he kindly said, "yours too."

then he turned to me and said, "what i see first when i look at you is this big zit," touching a recovering hole from acne. the little smart alec.

i wish i had thought about it then and said to him, "what i see first when i look at you is that big spot of atheltes foot on your face!" (he has a spot on his cheek right next to his lip that he got from not washing his hands after using the bathroom and then touching his face in the same spot over and over again.)

but i was recovered when i tackled him and licked from one cheek to his forehead, to the other cheek. it felt soo good to finally get a respectible payback
