bragging for a team that i am not even on
ok so the team is a part of the school, but i am not on it. for kind of obvious reasons. the boys soccer team for my high school is ranked NUMBER 2 on ESPN's High School Boy's Soccer Ranking. they played Bearden on thursday night, and won 2-0. way to go guys!! they are probably one of the best ranked team at my high school... o another accomplishment! they are ranked NUMBER 1 on the Coach's Pool Team! woo hoo! congrats to all
summer is here!
i am so excited! summer is now here and i have an entire week to do absolutely nothing before swimming starts. but i will probably start going down to the pool every morning and swim a couple of laps to start getting in shape. how exciting! not really...
but my final grades are:
honors biology (sooo glad that class is OVER)-96 (YES!!)
honors geometry (kind of sad that class is over...)-96 (WOO HOO!!)
computer applications (not really regretting the over-ness)-97
band- 99
the last two classes werent really that big of an accomplishment, but my first two classes were definitely! i really worked for those two classes and i was soo excited that i got all A's my second semester =)

a landmark
in puppy news,
holly had her first night were she DIDN'T go potty in the bathroom (where we decided to keep her, its easier maintenance than the kennel) and she went both poop and pee outside! hoorah!! i was soo excited and so was she when she figured out that she got a treat for doing the job outside without any accidents over night. the streak was kind of lost when she has had two accidents in the house since i have been home from school. the idea though is to get her potty-trained for the night, then ideally the during the day thing will fall into place. hopefully....

band banquet number uno
amazing. the only word that truly describes the atmosphere and events of last night. the band has an annual banquet at the end of the concert season and that is were the directors give out superlatives and awards and the parents of Micheal David Greene present a couple of seniors with a scholarship in his name. if you want to know more about the scholarship, click here. This year my mom made my dress cuz we figured that it would be cheaper to make the dress and get all the sewing necessities for it, than to go and try to find a dress that would be modest and appropriate for the occasion. ill try and get a picture of the dress and me in it, on the blog soon.
after the "ceremony" was over, the directors allowed us to have a dance. party!! i enjoyed rockin out with some of my senior friends for the first and last time in some cases. the dj we had was really cool, but he only let some of the songs play for a couple of seconds.. total bummer. he did let us play through a bunch of "line" dances. i use line very lightly because they werent the hoedown throwdown and the cowboy one; they were the cupid shuffle and of course soulja boy. of course lol
we had a lot of fun and i look forward to the next one. but not without all my senior friends... :(

the newest addition to the family
almost a week ago, my dad brought home an adorable pure-bred beagle puppy. and she is the cutest thing in the world. brown floppy ears and black spots down her back are her main features. shes a little irritating at time because she isnt house trained yet so she has to be watched like a hawk, but other than that she is so much fun to play with.
anybody got any ideas to keep an 11-week old puppy from peeing in the kennel at night? we've tried the letting her outside before she goes to bed, but it doesn't seem to work. just post a comment if you do. thanks :)

dress news
thanks so much to those of you who commented on which dress you liked best. i decided to go with the black dress, but my fabric is a light aquamarine color, like the sky on a clear summers day. i am soo excited and my mom has all the parts sewn together, its just waiting the final assembly and stitching. the banquet is the first of may, so i have about two weeks, but thats all ive got. NERVES!! my really excited though. i miss the dance that the band had at the end of band camp and i cant wait to have another with all my friends. but this time i know most of the people!! i dont feel like a complete stranger anymore. i can name most of the people by name from conversations with them, so i feel acheived.
the best movie since star wars
unless you have been living underneath a rock or without cable, you know that Avatar, nominated the best movie since Star Wars, was released on thursday. that night my parents went to the store for some camping stuff, and returned with the movie as well. and what do you do when you get a new movie and you have a flat screen and surround sound along with a Blu-Ray player and a Blu-Ray copy of the movie? lu duh, you watch it ASAP! so last night i watched the famed movie for the first time. and i have to give that movie a 4.5 out of 5. the reason it isnt a 5 is because the main character is an ex-Marine and a stereotypical one at that, so he has a dirty mouth. other than that, it was amazing!! really cool computer generation and really cool sound effects. my twin sister is now obsessed with it and insisted upon watching every spare moment she had today, but i think we have finally snapped her out of it, the author says hopefully. lol but the movie was really good, but i hate the way that the colonel and the project director have no respect for the Na'vi people. makes me so angry... but i guess that is the object of their characters: to act conceded and rude.

the house
i have exsalia bushes outside my house and they are in full bloom. sooo gorgeous. unfortunately they will shrivel very quickly due to the humidity of the air, but i got some really amazing pictures of the house and the flowers before they got all shriveled. yeah!
band news
i am in the concert band this season. the concert band went to a festival on the 9th and we had to ride a bus to get there- naturally. i sat with a couple of my friends and the only problem that we had was boredom. so we decided to play truth or dare. at first i was a chicken and said truth more times than i did dare, but then i got over that fear and from the game became more of a dare or dare game, not truth or dare. we were limited to the four walls of the bus, so we got creative. the bus driver nor the chaperones on our bus were paying attention so we got out onto the row and put our feet on someone, i ended up sitting in the seat wrong side up for five dares, a couple of the dudes got slaps in between the shoulder blades and then we got REALLY bored, so we started getting into the kisses on the cheek and the licking of various body parts: feet, toes, belly buttons and even a face or two. i was dared to kiss one of my friends on the lips and as we went to kiss, i got really close and then he decided to stick his tongue out. thank goodness i didnt kiss it. AWKWARD things would have happened then that im glad didnt. lol JK!!
our next concert is next week and needless to say our director is nervous about our preparedness to play. i think we will do just fine if the brass can pull it together, but thats a long shot.

spring break
this past week has been amazing. i got to sleep in until 8:30 am (and yes i know that isnt late, but we were pet sitting a dog that had to be taken out at 8:30, so naturally i had to be there to do it.)
monday and tuesday i went with my family and some friends up to wilderness in the smokies and spent the night. i had a lot of fun, even though i dont do roller coasters. one of the newer slides has a ginormous funnel and u drop about a foot into the thing. it is the scariest thing in the entire world when you can't see the drop coming and you actually can see it. i actually prefer to not see both and going down it sideways. it is funnier that way :) the green slide is my favorite though. it is really fast and awesome even though it doesnt have a giant funnel or scary drops or flips in it. one time i went with some parents and a really light nine year old, so we went really fast and really swirly inside the slide. one word describes that ride: awesome! the wave pool was cool too. about every twenty or thirty minutes, the lifeguards press a button that starts a huge wave of water. it is so much fun. i didnt go on the artificial wave that they had there partially because i didn't feel the need to.
thursday night i hung out with katherine at anchor park and then we went to her house and watched she's the man. i am officially in love with that movie. amazing!!!! love amanda bynes as a dude. sooo funny.
friday me and my sister went to a friends house and played a round of pool, watch a few minutes of brian reagon, and played just dance on the wii. we had a bucket load of laughs and had fun being together.
saturday and sunday were general conference and easter weekend so we didnt really have a lot to do expect for stay at home. yes... time to be lazy!
monday was torture because we had to prep to go back to school, eew. not fun, but still enjoyable b/c i didnt do anything
